ABOUT US.

An industry leading association providing subject matter advice to industry, Government bodies and Standards Australia on building membranes and application suitability.

The PBMA was established in 2014 after first being registered as the Australian Foil Insulation Manufactures Association Ltd in 2008.

The use of pliable building membranes can contribute to meeting Building Code requirements for air, water and moisture control, as well as improving energy efficiency. A major role of PBMA is to promote and develop trusted advice on product performance, appropriate climate zone applications and correct installation procedures to achieve improved building performance and durability.

Pliable Building Membrane is a material that complies with the performance requirements of the National Construction Code and AS4200.1 and AS4200.2

Our alliances.

The members of PBMA manufacture and distribute a significant portion of the pliable building membranes used in the Australian building and industrial markets.

These products include a comprehensive range of roof sarking, building wraps and insulation facing materials. These products can be used independently for air, water and moisture control or in combination with other building materials such as insulation, air conditioning ducting and for lagging industrial processes for thermal control and worker safety protection.

ICANZ is pleased to partner with the Australian Insulation Installers Association – who are a national group of professional insulation installers.

A national association of qualified, experienced, and accredited installers of thermal, acoustic and fire rated solutions. Members largely use glasswool batts and blankets, and pliable building membranes from Australian manufacturers who take quality and compliance seriously, to ensure the client gets the right result for their application. Foundation Member companies from across the country who each had decades of experience in choosing the right product for each application across new builds, retrofit markets, industrial and commercial buildings.

The members of PBMA are CSR Bradford and Fletcher Insulation (Australia) who are Australia’s largest and most established manufacturers and distributors of pliable building membranes. Both companies have long histories of over 70 years each of manufacturing and distributing membranes to the Australian building market.

With a strong interest in Australian manufacturing, both companies have made significant investments in manufacturing facilities and in providing local jobs.
